I have just returned from a week, taking a full time paper at Massey University, Palmerston North, on Negotiation Practices. The lecturer being the amazing Bruce Cottrill, has extensive experiences in mediating complex disputes in both the private and public sectors. He currently practices in mediation, conflict management, coaching and supervising mediators, having a wealth of knowlege that I have been lucky enough to be exposed to and learnt from.
The paper was attended by a number of vast business sectors, including the Police force, Ministry of Justice, Legal firms, Real estate brokers and many practicing Mediators & Arbitrators.  
I now have 2 assignments to submit, but the information I have taken away from this lecture is invaluable and I look forward to putting all my new skills into my everyday life negotiations. 
I recommend anyone to read "Getting to Yes, Negotiating an agreement without giving in" - Roger Fisher and William Ury. 
They put forward the theory of Intergrative Negotiation (or collaborative) practices versus Distributive Negotiation (Positional) to achieve a more favourable outcome for both parties.

One of the shared office options within the well appointed office floor located at 6 Viaduct Harbour Ave, has been leased.
A two person Media company has taken a one year lease term from mid October. This supports my comments on my last post of the need to focus on this market and offer shared office tenancies on flexible lease arrangements.
This leaves around four other options within the tenancy available, all of which benefit from the shared arrangement of the very lavious boardroom, and amenities. These Gross rental packages offer value for money, and allows a tenant to operate out of a premium office location on a short term basis.

Over the last few months I have experienced an increase in enquiry for shared offices and shorter term leases. As businesses look at their over heads to increase profits many are considering smaller offices with shared facilities. Tenants are looking to share in the use of meeting rooms, boardrooms and kitchen facilities, thereby sharing in the costs of these areas.  As staffing levels are reviewed, office space, now surplus to requirement can be leased out to another small operator on a short term lease. Many of the Corporate Real Estate companies don't deal with the smaller tenant market, so thats where I fit in! I am currently focusing on the small business market and assisting landlords with fitting out vacant office floors into smaller areas for these smaller tenants.

I have just returned from the Gold Coast last night from a Lifestyle Conference where I heard from some amazing speakers- as per my last blog, heard from John Burley on how to profit from the US Property Market crash- there are some bargains to be sort out there, and then was inspired like always from Pat Mesiti- the Aussie Pocket Rocket, who spoke on "Unleashing the Power of Prosperity"- change your mindset!
Stuart Zadel- the Director of Think and Grow Rich seminars has launched a new book- "Think and Grow Rich- Internet" discussing strategies of how to make money online- I am certainly going to be busy reading... his company publishes the highest selling wealth creation book of all time, Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill, which I am sure a lot of you have read- if not, recommend it!  ................Health, Prospertiy and Success to you all!

Wow at the lifestyle conference at the Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast and have just enjoyed speakers such as John Burley,  (the man behind Robert Kiyosaki- Rich Dad Poor Dad and Donald Trumps books) learning about how to profit from the US propery market crash! 
Can't wait to read his new book- Australia's Money Secrets of the Rich to share what I have learnt to put this into practice within our New Zealand market.
